Graduate
Student to Compete in Geographic Information Contest

Tyler graduate student Nikki King has been selected to participate
in the student competition of the 12th Annual South Central Arc
User Group Conference, to be held Feb. 16-22 in Fort Worth.
King, a student
in the master of public administration degree program, is one of
six graduate students chosen from a five-state area to compete for
the Best Graduate Student Presentation award.
The Longview
resident will present "ArcView Applications for Zoning,'' her
final project in the Geographic Information Systems course she took
in the fall. The project compares traditional methods of processing
a zoning change request to that of an ArcView-based method.
SCAUG is an
organization dedicated to the benefit of users of Environmental
Systems Research Institute's Geographic Information software in
Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the Cayman
Islands.
