Musicians to Present Jazz Pre-Show
Four Tyler
jazz musicians will present "Jazz Composition: What's
Goin' On?" at The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don
Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center on Friday, Feb. 1, Susan
Thomae-Morphew, Cowan Center director, announced.
The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Braithwaite
Recital Hall. Immediately following will be the featured performance
of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.

Tyler to Host Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition
Ninety
students from 14 middle and junior high schools will participate
in the East Texas regional MATHCOUNTS competition to be hosted
by The University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. David Beams, assistant
professor of electrical engineering, has announced.
The mathematics competition will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
16, at UT Tylers Robert R. Muntz Library. More>>>

A touring exhibit on the life of Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910),
pioneer in the field of mind/body medicine, publisher, teacher
and author, is on display on the second floor of UT Tyler's

Tyler Announces New Degree Programs
The University
of Texas at Tyler will offer two new master's degrees, Dr.
Barbara L. Hart, chair of the Department of Social Sciences,
has announced.
The master of science in criminal justice and the master of
science in sociology are available this spring. Interested
students may apply to this program immediately and may register
for classes on Friday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
