Theatre to Perform ‘The Fantasticks’ at Lamar University

The UT Tyler theatre department will enter “The Fantasticks’’ in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and will present a special tour performance at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Lamar University in Beaumont.

The off-Broadway musical, which has charmed audiences worldwide for nearly half a century, presents love, fantasy and romance as suggested by Edmund Rostand’s French play “Les Romanesques.’’

Opening performances of the musical were Nov. 8-10 at The Theatre. Additional performances are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Dec. 6-7.
