Longview
University Center Career Fair Successful

The
UT Tyler Longview University Center’s career fair
on Nov. 13 drew 200 attendees and 19 employers.
“I
am very pleased with the student and community support for
the LUC career fair,” said Dr. Jolene Lampton, LUC
director. “This shows that students and the public
appreciate the work of UT Tyler LUC faculty and staff.”

Johnsons
to Present Recital at Marvin UMC
UT
Tyler assistant professors of music Dr. Mark Johnson, tenor,
and Dr. Molly Johnson, mezzo-soprano, will present a sacred
recital at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Marvin United Methodist
Church.
They
will be joined by Ruth Morrow, Jeffery Ford and Fred Gunderson
on viola, organ and piano.
The
recital is part of the Marvin Concert Series, and includes
classical and popular sacred music of composers such as
Bernstein, Purcell, Vaughan Williams and Duke Ellington.

Friends
of the Arts Plans Kimbell Museum Trip
The
UT Tyler Friends of the Arts will sponsor a trip to the
Kimbell Art Museum in Forth Worth on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The
visit will include a tour of the exhibit “Mondrian
(1892-1914): The Path to Abstraction’’ and a
docent-guided tour of the “The Floral Art of Pierre-Joseph
Redoute.’’ Carolyn Hammett, a former art history
instructor at UT Tyler, will serve as guest lecturer. More>>>

Chi to Attend National Conference
Members
of Texas Alpha Xi, the UT Tyler chapter of the Alpha Chi
Scholastic Honor Society, will attend the National Alpha
Chi Convention in Washington D.C. March 13-15, 2003.
