Homecoming
Activities Mark New Tradition
As
UT Tyler expands its programs to provide more student life
activities, the Student Government Association is planning
to make homecoming activities an annual event.
The
university’s first homecoming activities were held
Sept. 12-13, beginning with an alumni banquet Thursday at
the Cowan Center. More>>>

Kickoff

UT
Tyler President Rodney Mabry kicks the first ball at the
Patriots women’s soccer game Sept. 10 to celebrate
the start of the university’s soccer program. The
game against Dallas Baptist University was held at UT Tyler.

Accounting
Major Awarded National Scholarship
Ingrid
Patrick, a junior at UT Tyler, is one of 42 students selected
nationwide to receive a scholarship from the National Society
of Accountants Scholarship Foundation.
Patrick
was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the 2002-03 academic
year on the basis of an outstanding scholastic record. The
Tyler resident is majoring in accounting. More>>>

Tyler Grad Receives Wall Street Journal Award
Shaun
Twomey of Tyler has been awarded the Wall Street Journal 2002
Student Achievement Award.
Twomey
graduated magna cum laude in spring 2002 with a bachelor of
business administration degree in finance.
The
Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award is presented
annually by the UT Tyler College of Business and Technology.
Twomey was chosen, for the second consecutive year, by the
