Homecoming Activities Mark New Tradition
|
| UT
Tyler SGA President Stephanie Heeren, left, and Erin Price,
treasurer, are pictured with special guests at the alumni banquet
including A.W. “Dub’’ Riter Jr., vice chairman
of the UT System Board of Regents; Patrick Willis, chairman
of UT Tyler Alumni Association board of directors; UT Tyler
President Rodney Mabry; and Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith,
who served as banquet speaker. |
As UT Tyler expands its programs to provide more
student life activities, the Student Government Association is planning
to make homecoming activities an annual event.
The university’s
first homecoming activities were held Sept. 12-13, beginning with
an alumni banquet Thursday at the Cowan Center.
“Our
SGA motto is building a legacy, starting a tradition, so we wanted
to organize a homecoming in order to give past and present students
an opportunity to get involved,” said Erin Price, SGA treasurer.
