Men’s Tennis Team Wins Matches

The UT Tyler men’s tennis team competed in the Collin Collegiate Tournament in this past weekend. The tournament included schools from Oklahoma and Texas.

Winning singles or doubles for the Patriots were: Greg Jones, Dallas Long, Steven Brouer, Blake Ericsson, Matt Haugen, Justin Duke, Kevin Cook and Andy White.

UT Tyler's Dallas Long of Gladewater won back-to-back matches against East Central Oklahoma’s top players. He first defeated Austin Haden 3-6, 7-5 (10-7), and then defeated Felipe Lopez 7-5, 6-3. East Central Oklahoma is an NCAA Division II program.

Greg Jones, UT Tyler’s No. 1 player, outclassed Matt Waller from ECU by the score of 6-0, 6-2.

The UT Tyler Patriots men’s next match is against McMurry College at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13th, at the UT Tyler Summers Tennis Center.
