Alpha Chi Chapter Honored in Washington

Texas Alpha Xi, the UT Tyler chapter of the Alpha Chi national college honor society, was named a Star Chapter during the society’s 2003 national convention March 13-15 in Washington D.C.

The Star Chapter award is presented to the top chapters in the nation. Only 32 of the more than 300 chapters received the distinction. UT Tyler has received the award for the past four years as well as in 1997 and 1998. The award was created in 1996. More>>>

Patriot Days

UT Tyler students participate in a bowling tournament at Green Acres Bowl on April 7. The tournament was one of many activities held during the third annual Patriot Days Student Appreciation Week. Other events included make-your-own music videos, games day and a Friday luncheon, awards presentation and live concert featuring Freshwater Collins. Photos>>>

Journalism Students Receive 16 TIPA Awards

Members of UT Tyler’s student newspaper, The Patriot, won 16 awards, including four first place honors during the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association’s annual convention held April 3-5 in Corpus Christi. More>>>

Grad Fest April 17 at Cowan Center

The UT Tyler Alumni Association will sponsor a Grad Fest on Thursday, April 17, for all students eligible to graduate in 2003.
