‘Simulation of Blindness’

Students blindfolded walking up stairs

Students in Dr. Amy Griffith’s Survey of Human Exceptionality Class (EDSP 4350) participate in a simulation of blindness activity on April 3. The activity was designed to broaden participants’ understanding of how visual impairment can impact a student’s view of the world and his or her ability to learn. EDSP 4350 is an introductory class primarily for students seeking teacher certification. The class focuses on special education programs for public schools and a variety of disabilities that could result in a child receiving special education.
