Exploring the World of Engineering

High school students build pop bottle rockets during an open house sponsored by UT Tyler electrical and mechanical engineering departments April 3. More than 60 juniors and seniors from Lindale, Whitehouse and Chapel Hill visited the university to learn about career opportunities in engineering. Participants took part in hands-on activities led by UT Tyler engineering students and faculty.

Dr. Jeffrey Mountain, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, provides guidance to students who participated in the building and launching of pop bottle rockets.
