Professor
Receives Forensics Award
Dr.
Jeffrey Hobbs, associate professor of speech communication, is pictured
with the plaque he was given as the recipient of the L.E. Norton
Award for Outstanding Forensics Scholarship. The Pi Kappa Delta
National Communication Association, a national forensics honorary
society, presented the award to Hobbs during its annual convention
Nov. 19-23 in Miami. At the presentation, Hobbs was noted for his
work on feminism and debate and for involving students and past
students in his research.
Each
year the National Council asks for nominations
from the forensics community (those involved
in competitive speech and debate on the college
level) for the award. The National Council chooses
a recipient from those nominations.
