Invited for Teaching Awards
Nominations
are being accepted from UT Tyler students and faculty for
Excellence in Teaching awards. The deadline for nominations
is Feb. 14.
Each
year the university recognizes two faculty members for their
excellence in teaching. One receives the Chancellor's Council
Teaching Award and the other is nominated for an award from
the Piper Foundation. More>>>

Film
Series Features Classic Musicals
Casting
the spotlight on classic musicals, UT Tyler’s Third
Wednesday Film Series will present “Top Hat" starring
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Films
are shown at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Cowan Center,
FAC 1009 (Braithwaite Recital Hall entrance). Introductions
precede each showing. The series of independent, classic,
documentary and foreign films is a project of the UT Tyler
Friends of the Arts and is sponsored by the theatre department.

‘Greater
Tuna’ Ticket Sales Begin
Tickets
are on sale for “Greater Tuna,” a hilarious comedy
that will take the Cowan Center stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday
and Saturday, March 7 - 8.
UT
Tyler students can receive one free ticket to the performance
upon presenting their current student ID at the Cowan Center
box office. Student tickets are limited to 200 and are available
on a first-come/first-served basis. More>>>

Presents ‘Othello’
Opening
performances of “Othello,” Shakespeare’s
tragedy of love and vengeance, will be Feb. 14-16, at TheTheatre.
The
production is part of the UT Tyler theatre department’s
2002-03 season of performances based on the theme “Worldly

Professor
to Discuss Ethiopian Reptiles
Dr.
Ron Gutberlet, assistant professor of biology at The University
of Texas at Tyler, will make a presentation about the
amphibians and reptiles of Ethiopia during a meeting of
the East Texas Regional Herpetological Society Tuesday,
Feb. 11.
The
meeting, open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the
UT Tyler Sciences Building, Room 140. More>>>
