Fischer and Lundberg-Love Appointed to Professorships
UT
Tyler has appointed Dr. Mary Fischer to the George W. and
Robert S. Pirtle Professorship in Free Enterprise and Dr.
Paula Lundberg-Love to the Dr. Ben R. Fisch Endowed Professorship.
The appointments recognize their contributions to the university.

Michael Gurt to Perfom at UT Tyler
Internationally
acclaimed pianist Michael Gurt will be presented in concert
Sunday, Feb. 2, at The University of Texas at Tyler.
Sponsored
by the UT Tyler Friends of the Arts, the concert will begin
at 3 p.m. in Braithwaite Recital Hall at the R. Don Cowan
Fine and Performing Arts Center. Admission will be free. More>>>
Art
Program Plans Trip to Houston Museums
The
art program will sponsor a bus trip to the Museum of Fine
Arts and Menil Collection in Houston Friday, Feb. 7.
The
bus will depart at 6:30 a.m. from the art studios and return
in the evening.
Organized
by Dr. Jill Blondin, assistant professor of art history,
the trip is open to UT Tyler students, faculty and staff.
Space is limited. Those who want to attend should sign up

Dr. Ford Conducts Research in French
Guyana
Dr.
Neil Ford, professor of biology, visited French Guyana Jan.
1-10 to initiate a long-term collaboration between the UT
Tyler biology department and the department of herpetology
in the Center of Biologic Studies of Chize, France.
During
the trip, funded through the Mary John and Ralph Spence
Distinguished Professorship, Ford collected baseline life-history
information of snakes at various sites operated by the National
Center of Scientific Research. More>>>
