Scholarship Presentation
Former UT quarterback Major Applewhite, right,
presents the Major Applewhite Scholarship to
Billy Parker of Palestine. Applewhite was guest
speaker at the Patriot Golf Classic luncheon
on May 19. Patriot Classic events, held May
10-19, included golf, tennis and the always-popular
Texas “Shootout” Barbecue. Proceeds
from the annual events benefit scholarship programs
for students at the university’s Tyler,
Longview and Palestine campuses.
