Students,
Faculty Attend Engineers’ Banquet
UT
Tyler engineering students and faculty attended the National
Engineers’ Week Banquet Feb. 20 in Tyler.
They
were among more than 380 attending the event held at the Tyler
Junior College Rogers Student Center. Those in attendance
included high school and college students as well as their
counselors and professors. Banquet speaker was Texas A&M
faculty member Dr. William Schneider, who spoke on engineering
challenges at NASA. More>>>
Writing
Center Opens LUC Satellite Site
The
UT Tyler Writing Center has established a satellite site
at the UT Tyler Longview University Center.
The
Writing Room, located in LUC 218, brings Longview students
the same professional writing assistance that is offered
on the main campus. Tutors are available to help with general
writing skills and more specific sentence-level concerns.

Spring Break Utility Outages Announced
Utility
outages are scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, March 13-16, in
order to connect power, water and thermal utilities to the
nursing building.
The
following utility outages are announced:

The electrical outage will affect Sci/Math building only.
Personnel in this building must ensure computers are turned
off prior to Thursday, March 13.
-
The domestic water outage will affect ADM, HPR and Sci/Math
buildings.
-
The chilled and heating water system outage will not affect

Health
Fair Thursday in UC 118
The
DREAM Team and the Office of Student Services will sponsor
a health fair from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in UC
118.
There
will be free blood pressure checks, BMI, height/weight measures,
visual acuity screenings, diabetes risk assessments, body
fat analysis, five-minute chair massages, food and door prizes.
