Sue
Brown, RN, BSN, a UT Tyler graduate
student, will make a poster presentation at
the 26th Annual Conference of the National
Rural Health Association in Salt Lake City,
Utah, on May 15.
Brown
is the first student in the history of the
conference asked to participate in the program.
The topic of her presentation will be “Cultural
Competence for Health Care Workers.’’
Dr.
Pam Martin, associate professor and
assistant dean for undergraduate nursing programs,
has been selected as a Fellow in the American
Association of Colleges of Nursing Leadership
for Academic Nursing Program.
The
program, a yearlong mentored experience supported
by the Helene Fuld Health Trust, is designed
to develop and enhance leadership skills in
new and emerging administrators in baccalaureate
and nursing programs.
Dr.
Martin was one of 60 academic nursing leaders
selected from across the United States to
receive this honor.
Ernest
McAllister, student activities coordinator,
was appointed to the National Association
of Campus Activities Central Region Showcase
Selection Committee.
The
committee plays an important role in the world
of college and university student activities
and programming. The region includes Texas,
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri
and New Mexico
