Students Take Part in Benefit Walk

UT Tyler students participated in the 14th annual "Walk a Mile for a Special Child" sponsored by the Association for Retarded Citizens on April 24.

Students of Dr. Amy Griffith, assistant professor of special education, received awards for their participation in the event held at Rose Rudman Trail.

“Our group won two awards, Best Dressed Team and Largest Team, and will be receiving plaques for those awards,” Dr. Griffith said. “We had 45 team members participate and actually walk the mile.”

Proceeds from the walk benefit ARC programs in Tyler and Smith County.
