The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, sponsored by Waller Broadcasting. It is part of the Braithwaite Music Series, sponsored by the late Mrs. David G. Braithwaite and presented jointly by the Cowan Center and East Texas Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are $30, $23 and $16. UT Tyler students receive one free ticket to each event when presenting their current student ID at the box office window during single ticket sales. Student tickets may be limited to 200 tickets per performance or until tickets have sold out. All tickets are based on a first-come-first-served basis. It is recommended that students obtain tickets when they first go on sale. Faculty and staff may receive up to two discounts to each event. Bates will open the Braithwaite Music Series with an elegant candlelight concert featuring works by Rachmaninoff and Chopin. A veteran musician, he has traveled the globe and won critical and audience raves in the most respected halls, including Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Philadelphia’s Academy of Music. In addition to his acclaimed solo concerts, Bates performs regularly with the major U.S. symphonies including the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony. Upcoming Performances Bowfire is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. The Performing Arts Series event is sponsored by Joyce Buford and Dermatology Associates of Tyler. The Music Man,
a Broadway Series production sponsored by Southside Bank, will take
the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.
