Moniqua Thomas (right) a political science major from Nacogdoches, is presented the Freshman Spotlight Award by Dr. Ann Beebe, assistant professor of English, on Nov. 19. Beebe nominated Thomas for being an outstanding student. “Moniqua takes responsibility for her own education and challenges herself to reach new standards,’’ Beebe said. “Morever, Moniqua is a very generous classmate. She takes the time to post helpful links on Blackboard for her fellow students, and is a generous and helpful peer reviewer.’’ The Office of
Student Development honors a freshman weekly for excelling in class,
student activities, leadership, attitude or in other aspects of
college life. Faculty and staff may nominate a freshman by sending
