History
to Offer Travel/Study Course in Central Europe
The
UT Tyler Department of History will offer a travel/study course
on World War II in Central Europe during Summer Session I in 2004.
The six-hour
course is open to graduates (History 5668) and to undergraduates
who are juniors or seniors (History 4668). The cost of the course
is $2,499 plus tuition and fees. There is a possibility that partial
grants will be available for which students may compete.
Evening
classes will be held at UT Tyler during the
four Fridays of May 2004. The class will travel
to Europe June 5-20 and visit major Central
European capitals: Berlin, Vienna, Warsaw, Prague
and Budapest.
Dr.
Patricia A. Gajda, professor of history, is
organizing the course. Students should consult
her for details as soon as possible at (903)
566-7440 or pgajda@mail.uttyl.edu.
Brochures with
full details and application forms are available in the Department
of History office in Room 237 of the Business Administration Building
and on the bulletin board outside Dr. Gajda’s office (Room
235). Students who submit the down payment along with the application
to the course may officially register by telephone for the course
beginning Nov. 3.
“Interested
students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible,” Dr.
Gajda said. “Changing procedures in the tour industry now
require that we apply and make down payments much earlier than in
the past if we wish to reserve spots, which will be awarded on a
first-come, first-served basis.”
