UT Tyler employees will have an opportunity to meet University Staff Advisory Council representatives on Friday, Nov. 7. The “Meet Your Rep" event is scheduled for 8-9:30 a.m. in the Herrington Patriot Center lobby. Coffee, doughnuts and juice will be served. USAC is an advisory body through which staff members may make recommendations to the president and university leaders relative to interests, concerns and issues affecting the life and future of the university. The advisory council identifies issues of concern, recommends solutions to problems and otherwise suggests new ways to improve service. Staff members are encouraged to submit their ideas and concerns to their USAC representative. USAC also promotes a caring atmosphere for students, fostering pride in service and arranging for staff professional development programs. The council is responsible for the Star Employee Awards program and for organizing the annual President’s Appreciation Week each spring. In addition, USAC elects a member each year to serve on the UT System Employee Advisory Council, a representative advisory group that works with and on behalf of the UT System. More
