Roundtable Discussion With Ann Compton

ABC news correspondent Ann Compton speaks in a roundtable discussion during Thursday’s student seminar in the Braithwaite Recital Hall. The seminar for university students was held prior to the Vernon and Amy Faulconer Lecture featuring Compton. The lecture was part of the 2003-04 Distinguished Lecture Series.

Jim Giametta, executive editor of the Tyler Morning Telegraph, presents the first question in the roundtable discussion. Also participating are (from left) KLTV Channel 7’s Gillian Sheridan; Robert Boggs, editor in chief of The Patriot, UT Tyler’s student newspaper; and Compton.

During the roundtable discussion and a question-and answer session with the audience, Compton answered questions about several topics, including liberal bias and fairness in news reporting, the 9/11 tragedy, the conflict in Iraq and the six presidents she has covered as White House correspondent for ABC.
