Juliane Halverson (right) is presented the Freshman Spotlight award by Terri Deike, women’s basketball coach, for the week of Oct. 6. A student from Rockwall, Halverson is double majoring in psychology and criminal justice. She is a member of the women’s basketball team and is a great student, said Deike, who nominated her for the award. Honorees receive a Freshman Spotlight certificate and a $10 gift certificate to the campus bookstore. Faculty and staff may nominate a freshman by sending an e-mail to freshmanspotlight@uttyler.edu.
