Professor Awarded Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching


Neil GrayDr. Neil Gray, associate professor of chemistry at The University of Texas at Tyler, is the recipient of the Jack and Dorothy Fay White Fellowship for Teaching Excellence for the 2003-04 academic year.

The award is given to the previous year’s nominee for the Minnie Stevens Piper Award, which recognizes excellence in teaching.

Gray, who joined the UT Tyler faculty in 1995, has received numerous teaching awards including the Chancellor's Council Award in 2001 and the Minnie Stevens Piper Award nomination in 2002.

Transfer Preview Night will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the University Center.

UT Tyler LUC Director Resigns to Return to Austin

Jolene LamptonDr. Jolene Lampton has announced her resignation from her position as director of The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University Center.

A reception honoring Dr. Lampton is scheduled for 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the UT Tyler LUC.

Dr. Lampton, who has held the position since Aug. 2002, has accepted a position as instructor at Park University in Austin beginning Oct. 20. More>>>

Drug, Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest Announced

The DREAM Team will sponsor a poster contest for Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week, Oct. 27-31.

Entries are being accepted through Oct. 23 in UC 282. Posters must be standard size and related to alcohol or drug abuse prevention. More>>>
