Sharon
Brindle, senior lecturer in nursing at the Palestine
Campus, recently completed her nurse doctorate degree from Rush
University College of Nursing, Chicago, Ill. The ND program builds
on the role of the advanced nurse practitioner and provides real
world experience in strategic planning, research, communication
to affect change and data management. The program also incorporates
critical business concepts.
“The
Second Generation Correlates of Effective Elementary Schools”
by William L. Johnson, Annabel M. Johnson and Dr. Brenda
Gilliam, UT Tyler associate professor of special education,
was published in Volume XVI, No. 4 (July 2003) of the Instructional
Leader, the refereed journal of the Texas Elementary Principals
and Supervisors Association.
Dr. Jeffrey
R. Mountain, associate professor of mechanical engineering,
recently attended a meeting of National Science Foundation Grantees
in Washington D.C. The meeting was specifically for projects dealing
with engineering and computing education, with a focus on investing
in America’s future.
Dr.
Mountain presented a poster outlining the
progress on his project “Development
of a Process Control Breadboard System to
Attract and Retain Engineering Students.”
The meeting, attended by approximately 180
NSF grantees, provided a forum to exchange
ideas, meet with National Science Foundation
program officers and division directors and
learn more about future program offerings
funded by NSF.
