Student
Life Seeks Orientation Leaders
The
UT Tyler Office of Student Life is accepting
applications for orientation leaders for 2004.
Orientation
leaders are assigned a wide range of responsibilities,
including:
-
Leading groups of freshmen on campus tours
and through question/answer sessions.
-
Conducting information seminars at each orientation
session and at Patriot Camp.
-
Setting up and taking down for orientation
events and Patriot Camp.
-
Exhibiting a positive attitude toward orientation
and the university.
Orientation
leaders must be willing to actively participate
in all dates for training, retreats, preparation,
orientation and Patriot Camp.
Skills
and qualities required include the ability to
improvise and think under pressure; good interpersonal
communication skills in both large and small
group settings; and the ability to relate well
to people from diverse backgrounds.
Orientation
leaders must have at least a 2.5 cumulative
GPA and maintain full-time UT Tyler student
status. Involvement in an on-campus organization
or program is preferred.
The
deadline to apply is Oct. 31. Application forms
