Information
Technology Offers ‘Get Smart’ Training
UT
Tyler’s information technology departments
will begin offering monthly training sessions
in a new small group interactive format.
The
series is “Get Smart or Smarter
With Information Technology.’’ The
first training session is scheduled for 1 -
2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in LIB 401.
Several
different topics will be presented for small
groups of five or less, during simultaneous
30 minute sessions. Initial topics will be introduction
and basics with more advanced topics being offered
in future sessions.
Session
topics for Oct. 31 include:

Notes Basics and New Features
- Blackboard
Introduction
- Excel
VLOOKUP Function
- Campus
Connect Overview
- PowerPoint
Basics
“The
atmosphere will be casual, informative and fun
-- especially if you remember the old ‘Get
Smart’ TV series,’’ said Dr.
Sherri Whatley, executive director of information
technology.
Sign-up
is required for sessions. Whatley will be sending
out an e-mail with additional information and
sign-up details.
