Dr. Herb Epstein, UT Tyler lecturer in business and technology, displays the gold medals he won in table tennis at the 17th World Senior Games held recently in St. George, Utah. Epstein won the gold in his skill category and another in his age category during the Olympics-style international events sponsored by Huntsman World Senior Games. Athletes of age 50 and older were invited to compete in 20 sports. Epstein was one of 7,000 participants, representing 48 countries. He has played table tennis most of his life and has won other awards in the sport. Last year, Epstein and UT Tyler library assistant Joanne Buendtner placed first in table tennis during the Tyler Corporate Challenge.
