Magician Returns With Comedy Hypnotist

Nationally touring magician Brian Brushwood, who brought his Truly Bizarre Magic Show to UT Tyler last year, will return on Monday, Oct. 27, with more magic and an additional act.

Comedy hypnotist C.J. Johnson will join Brushwood for the show, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the University Center. Tickets are $2 for students and $3 for adults. UT Tyler students will be admitted free with current UT Tyler ID.

Awarded by the Texas Association of Magicians for Best Club Magic and Best Comedy Magic, Brushwood’s performance includes fire eating, sleight of hand tricks a record-breaking straitjacket escape and mind reading.

Brushwood’s magic has been featured nationwide on television shows including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Talk Soup,” “The Roseanne Show,” “The Debra Duncan Show” and news affiliates from FOX, ABC, CBS and Time Warner.

Johnson is a multi-talented master hypnotist and illusionist whose skills range from sleight of hand and grand illusion to stage hypnosis. He is certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy and has made appearances for corporations, colleges and universities and high schools throughout the country.

He recently was named "Hypnotist of the Year" by CampusAwards.com.
