UT Tyler’s University Pines apartments received two awards at Century Campus Housing Management’s annual awards banquet in Houston Sept. 24.

The University Pines was presented the 2002-03 Marketing Theme of the Year award for its “Welcome to the Pines Theatre” campaign and the Outstanding Partnership of the Year award for its excellent relationship with the university.

Jenny Sims, University Pines managing director, and Dr. Dale Lunsford, vice president for student affairs and external relations, with Outstanding Partnership of Year plaque.

There were six other finalists for the partnership award, including The University of Texas at San Antonio; Abilene Christian University; Oklahoma City University; Weber State University in Ogden, Utah; Northwest State University in Natchitoches, La.; and Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.

The University Pines’ Jenny Sims was a finalist for Director of the Year. In addition, the student housing complex was a finalist for Most Improved Facility of the Year, Facility of the Year and Individual Residence Life Program of the Year.
