UT Tyler President, VP Teach Freshman Course

Dr. Mabry and Dr. Ferguson teaching freshman class

Along with his duties as The University of Texas at Tyler’s chief administrative and academic officer, President Rodney Mabry has assumed an additional role this semester.

On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Dr. Mabry enters Room 259 of the Business Administration Building and stands before a class of about 29 freshmen – as their instructor. More>>>


HPC Dedication Ceremony Friday

A dedication ceremony for the UT Tyler Herrington Patriot Center will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Jon Divine, a UT Tyler alumnus who serves as team physician for the University of Houston and the WNBA Houston Comets. More>>>

4 1/2 - Day Workweek Planned for Summer ‘04

A four and one-half day schedule is planned for the summer of 2004.

The summer schedule will begin on Monday, May 10, and continue through Friday, Aug. 13. Business hours for administrative offices will be 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 7:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Friday. More>>>

Fall Enrollment Climbs 12 Percent

Official enrollment figures for the fall 2003 semester show a 12 percent increase in the number of students at UT Tyler, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

Headcount for this fall is a record 4,760, which is an additional 513 students over the 2002 fall headcount. More>>>

UT Tyler Women Earn First Win of Season, Men Improve to 3-0

The UT Tyler women’s soccer team scored three goals in the first 28-mintes against Ouachita Baptist to win their first game of the season 3-2 Saturday in Arkadelphia, AR.

Lindsay Lyle put the Lady Patriots (1-2) on the board in the second minute when she scored on an assist from Lindsey Henrie. Cara Janton added a second goal on a penalty kick in the 11th minute, and Henrie scored off a Janton assist in the 28th minute to put UT Tyler in front 3-0. More>>>

Parking Lot – Construction continues on a 245-space parking lot in front of the Cowan Center (facing Varsity Drive). Details>>>

Premier Soccer Field – Request for proposals was issued on Aug. 25. Proposals will be opened on Sept. 22.

Longview University Center monument signs – Project will be re-bid with some alterations to the design.

Palestine Signs – A contract has been awarded; work to begin in September.
