Banned Books Read Out Wednesday

Banned Books graphicMuntz Library will hold its Third Annual Read Out 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in observance of Banned Books Week.

Members of the campus community are invited to come and listen and/or read selections. To register to read call 903-566-7174 or send an email to jbuendtn@mail.uttyl.edu.

The library is joining thousands of libraries and bookstores nationwide in celebrating Banned Books Week Sept. 20-27. Organized in 1982, the annual event is a celebration of the freedom to read.

Banned Books Week 2003 has the theme “Open Your Mind to a Banned Book.” It is sponsored by the American Booksellers Association, the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, the ALA, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Association of American Publishers and the National Association of College Stores. It is endorsed by the Center for the Book of the Library of Congress.
