A wreath is placed in the arch of the Riter Millennium Carillon Tower in honor of Regent A.W. “Dub’’ Riter Jr., who passed away last week. Regent Riter served as a distinguished member of the UT System Board of Regents since 1997. A passionate supporter of UT Tyler, Regent Riter’s “loving handprint was on almost every campus project we have undertaken in recent years,’’ UT Tyler President Rodney Mabry said. Regent Riter and his wife, Betty Jo, donated a gift to create the UT Tyler carillon tower and plaza.
