President’s
Appreciation Week April 19-23
“Spring
Fever’’ will be the theme of this year’s
President's Appreciation Week to be held April 19-23 at UT
Tyler. Recreational activities are planned for each afternoon.
All
offices will remain open during the week. Participation requires
the approval of the supervisor and coordination to minimize

Patriot
Singers to Present First Musical Theatre Revue
The
UT Tyler Patriot Singers, an auditioned choral ensemble performing
Broadway, spiritual, jazz and popular styles, will present
its first musical theatre revue April 23-25.
Open
to the public, the performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Student
Journalists Win 24 TIPA Awards
Members
of The Patriot student newspaper won 24 awards, including
seven first place honors during the annual Texas Intercollegiate
Press Association Convention April 1-3 in Austin.
The
awards marked the most ever won by the UT Tyler students.
In overall sweepstakes points, The Patriot finished second
in Division II, which consists of 15 Texas colleges and universities
with an enrollment of 10,000 or more. More>>

Art
Department Visits Fort Worth Museums
Twenty-eight
art students and faculty traveled to Fort Worth March 19
to visit the Museum of Modern Art and the Kimbell Museum
of Art.
The
Modern Art Museum provides a captivating experience both
in terms of its new structure and the world class images
on display. At the Kimbell, students and faculty were treated
to the delights of a touring exhibition of J. M. W. Turner,
an English master of the last century. More>>

The
UT Tyler Office of News and Information received two awards
in the 2004 Council for Advancement and Support of Education
District IV Awards Competition. This is the second consecutive
year that UT Tyler has been recognized by CASE.
