Patriot Singers to Present
First Musical Theatre Revue
The
UT Tyler Patriot Singers, an auditioned choral ensemble performing
Broadway, spiritual, jazz and popular styles, will present its first
musical theatre revue April 23-25.
Open to the
public, the performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 23-24 and
3 p.m. April 25 in the University Center. For reservations, contact
the UT Tyler music program at 903-566-7250.
The production
will feature the music of Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Duke
Ellington, Stephen Swartz and others, under the direction of Dr.
Mark Johnson, assistant professor of music.
The 20-member
ensemble, consisting of full-time UT Tyler students, made its debut
in the fall. The group was formed to represent the university on
campus and throughout the East Texas region and state.
