for Nina Rogers
TYLER — Services
for Nina Yulanda Rogers will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday,
Aug. 31, at Rose Heights Church of God with Carn Catherwood
officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31,
at Hoover Cemetery in Big Sandy under the direction of
Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Miss Rogers was born Aug. 6, 1959, in Denton to Vernon
and Leah Rogers. She was a graduate of Big Sandy High School.
Miss Rogers received her bachelor’s
and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler. More>>>

Student
newspaper editors at UT Tyler changed their publication’s
name to Patriot Talon from The Patriot.
The
student editorial board voted to change the name to distinguish
the newspaper from other organizations on campus also having “Patriot’’ in

power to make purchases on campus and at some off-campus
merchants, attend campus events, vote in student elections

Opens
Students
patronize the new Varsity Grill, located next to the Subway
in the University Center. The grill is open 10 a.m. to
9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday. Grand
opening activities are scheduled for the week of Sept.
