UT
Tyler Students Win National Debate Championship
The
University of Texas at Tyler students Amy Arellano and Noah
Conklin placed first at a recent National Collegiate Honorary
Tournament sponsored by Pi Kappa Delta in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The tournament, held Jan. 22-25 at Middle Tennessee State
University, was open to students from universities and colleges
who belong to one of the three national speech honorary societies:
Pi Kappa Delta, Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha or Phi Rho
Pi. Participants were from 34 universities and colleges nationwide.More>>>

Spring
Enrollment Indicates University’s Growth
For
the third consecutive year, spring enrollment at UT Tyler
has shown
significant increases in both headcount and semester credit
hours, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
The official headcount for spring 2004 totals 4,750, which
is a 12 percent increase over last spring’s 4,246. Spring
2004 semester credit hours increased at an even faster rate
indicating students are shortening their time to graduation
by taking more classes per term. Student credit hours increased
14.6 percent to 47,670.

Dean’s
List, President’s Honor Roll Announced
UT
Tyler has named 193 students to the President’s Honor
Roll and 237 students to the Dean’s List for the 2003
fall semester.
To
be named to the President’s Honor Roll at UT Tyler,
a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more
semester credit hours with grades of “A” in all
courses that carry grade points.
To
be named to the Dean’s List at UT Tyler, a student must
have completed at least nine semester credit hours at the
university with a grade point average of 3.75 or above. More>>>
