About 150 people attended a groundbreaking ceremony June 3 for the UT Tyler Engineering, Sciences and Technology Building. The ceremony was held at the construction site of the new facility – on the north side of the campus, between UT Tyler Cowan Center and Business Administration Building.

UT Tyler President Rodney H. Mabry said the university hopes to enhance economic development for East Texas with the construction of the new building. More>>>

Members of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board visited UT Tyler on May 27 to discuss the human resource doctorate submitted for approval by the university. Huffines Elected Chairman of UT System Board of Regents

AUSTIN – The University of Texas System Board of Regents unanimously elected James Richard Huffines of Austin as its chairman on June 2. Huffines, appointed to the board by Governor Rick Perry in 2003, becomes the 35th chairman of the board. He succeeds Charles Miller of Houston who resigned as chairman in May. More>>>
