Board Visits Campus
Members
of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board visited UT
Tyler on May 27 to discuss the human resource doctorate submitted
for approval by the university. The visit included a presentation
by President Rodney Mabry, a brief tour of the campus and

Scholarship Recipients Announced
Sandy
Devisscher of Lindale and Erinn Barnes of Tyler are recipients
of history scholarships at UT Tyler.
The
scholarships are awarded to declared history majors in recognition
of their excellent academic performance and for the purpose
of encouraging the study of history at UT Tyler. More>>>

Huffines Elected Chairman
of UT System Board of Regents
AUSTIN
– The University of Texas System Board of Regents unanimously
elected James Richard Huffines of Austin as its chairman on
June 2. Huffines, appointed to the board by Governor Rick
Perry in 2003, becomes the 35th chairman of the board. He
succeeds Charles Miller of Houston who resigned as chairman
