USAC ‘Meet Your Rep’ Coffee Nov. 19 UT Tyler employees will have an opportunity to meet University Staff Advisory Council representatives on Friday, Nov. 19. A Meet Your Rep Coffee is scheduled for 8:30-10 a.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center. Coffee and doughnuts and will be served. An official body of the university, USAC was formed to further the fulfillment of UT Tyler’s mission. Members of the council have wide experience at the university and, from the staff perspective, can inform and advise the president and other leaders concerning issues affecting the success of the university. They may identify issues of concern, recommend solutions to problems and otherwise suggest new ways to improve service. USAC members may bring forth for discussion concerns of particular interest to the staff. The council also serves as a two-way means of communication, helping to keep staff members informed about university plans and activities. The council promotes a caring atmosphere for students, fostering pride in service and arranging for staff professional development programs. USAC is responsible for the Star Employee Awards program and for organizing the annual President’s Appreciation Week each spring. In addition, USAC elects a member each year to serve on the UT System Employee Advisory Council, a representative advisory group that works with and on behalf of the UT System.
