80 Athletes Participate in Heart Walk
Members of UT Tyler baseball, softball and women's soccer teams took part in the American Heart Walk held Sept. 11 in Tyler. The teams volunteered to help set up the event as well as register participants and raise money. Eighty UT Tyler athletes participated in the Heart Walk. "This was a great experience for our athletes,’’ James Vilade, head baseball coach, said. “Today we were able to play a big part in a great event that will raise money for heart attack and stroke vicitms. Our athletes did a great job and made up a big portion of the over 100 representatives from UT Tyler at this event. It just shows what a strong commitment the university has to the Tyler community.’’
