John Web playing sax for studentsDr. John Webb illustrates how the process of personal growth and career development is identical to practicing a musical instrument during a Sept. 14 Career Success Seminar in the University Center. In his clinic “Self Discovery: Your Best Career Option!’’ Dr. Webb, director of the UT Tyler School of Visual and Performing Arts, offered to students that taking the time for serious introspection, seeing how one relates to the big picture and how one treats others have the greatest impact on career success. “Identifying who you really are, what you love to do, what's important in life and the value of thinking without limitations is a necessary prerequisite to being ready to dedicate a career that is a ‘best fit.’ Then comes the reality and necessity of daily, consistent practice not only with career, but with one's well-being also,’’ Dr. Webb said.
