UT Tyler Expands Food Options

Eight new food options including Mexican, Asian and breakfast foods will be available at UT Tyler this fall.

UT Tyler food venues will open Aug. 23.

Casa Solana and Mein Street Wok will be located next to Subway in front of the bookstore. Hours of operations are 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Casa Solana will offer a variety of Mexican food in a cafeteria style serving line for lunch. Entrees will vary daily including fajitas, chicken and beef enchiladas, tacos and rice and beans.
  • Mein Street Wok will offer Asian food and limited sushi items in a cafeteria style serving line. Entrees will vary daily.

The Varsity Grill will open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and include the following additions.

  • Potato Gourmet will serve baked or sweet potatoes with toppings such as butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, barbecue beef, southwestern guacamole or fajita chicken. Other options include sweet potatoes served with butter, syrup and mini marshmallows, as well as broccoli cheese, chicken enchilada and tortilla soups.
  • Pannini’s Grill will offer hot, grilled sandwiches such as Italian turkey, tuna melt, turkey and swiss, fiesta chicken, California chicken, ham and cheese and veggie.

Varsity Grill also will offer new menu items such as patty melts, Philly cheese steaks, chicken Philly, chili cheese fries, tacos and Frito pie.

Blends & Brews will open 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and include the following additions.

  • Belgium’s Waffle Stand will offer hot waffles prepared while you wait. Syrups and toppings will also be available.
  • Smoothie Stop will serve blended smoothie products of your choice.

The ATP Zone will be located in the Herrington Patriot Center and will offer smoothies, fresh fruit, power/energy bars, protein cookies, bottled drinks and limited additives to assist in boosting energy, muscle recovery and protein additions. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Liberty Station will be located on the first floor of the Business Administration Building and will offer Starbucks coffee, desserts, single serve salads and limited sushi items. A Pannini’s Grill and Belgium Waffle Stand will also be available. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Existing food venues also have new attractions:

Subway has a new $2.49 daily special and a new breakfast menu including wraps and sandwiches. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Traditions, offering a cafeteria style hot lunch, will return with a new menu and updates. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
