In the Spotlight

Brian Payne and Jody Creel, seniors in the mechanical engineering department, presented a paper entitled “Higher Order Chemistry Models in the CFD Simulation of Laser-Ablated Carbon Plumes” at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics 43 rd Aerospace Sciences Meeting in Reno, NV last month. The work was co-authored by their mentor on research, Dr. Robert Greendyke, associate professor of mechanical engineering as well as two former ME students , Tiffany Stein and Lyneisa Ray. This is the first time in AIAA history that undergraduate students from any university have presented a professional paper at an AIAA conference.
