An article entitled, " The Scholar-Practitioner Concept and Its Implications for Self-Renewal:
A Doctoral Student’s Perspective " written by Terri Hebert, Teacher-In-Residence, has been accepted into the Scholar Practitioner Quarterly Journal. It is slated for release sometime in the late summer and early fall. Terri is in her second year of a three year doctoral program for educational administration and leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Dr. Neil Ford, professor of biology, was invited to participate in the 5th World Congress of Herpetology at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa on June 19 - 24. Dr. Ford will give a slide presentation and talk entitled "Niche apportionment and random processes both influence snake assemblages in bottomlands". He will also participate in a symposium on Advances in Foraging Modes and be the chair of a session of presentations.
Dr. Michael Eidenmuller’s website, americanrhetoric.com, received PC magazine's Top 100 Educational Site award for the spring 2005.
Dr. Michael Eidenmuller has been invited, all expenses paid, to give a series of lectures June 23-28 at Calvin College's summer writing institute on American rhetoric.
Vicki Betts , professional librarian, presented "Patriotism and Practicality: Civil War Era Homespun Dresses" June 4 at the 7th conference on Women and the Civil War at Virginia Tech University.
