Dr. Isaura Flores, visiting associate professor of marketing, has been invited to represent Texas at a forum sponsored by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. The Pathways to Hispanic Family Learning forum to be held June 16-17 in Washington, D.C., will highlight public and private efforts to meet the educational needs of Hispanic families. Dr. Flores will be among representatives from community-based, nonprofit and faith-based organizations sharing their experience and knowledge in reaching Hispanic families and communities with educational resources. Reginald Killingley , director of the College of Education and Psychology center for Undergraduate Advising and Clinical Experiences, wrote an article in May for the Longview News-Journal about political, educational and business leaders respecting the Hispanic community and ensuring written and other materials used for communication are characterized by quality and clarity.
