Cowan Center Opens 2005-2006 Circle Membership Drive This season Cowan Center Circle members will enjoy a garden gala with actress Lily Tomlin, who will open the ninth season, which includes the Performing Arts Series, Distinguished Lecture Series, Broadway Series and Special Events. Acclaimed star of the stage and screen, Tomlin has won six Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards and one Grammy Award. Currently, she stars as President Bartlett’s assistant on NBC’s The West Wing. Circle membership levels range from $50 individual to $15,000 executive producer. Benefits include acknowledgement in all show programs and the opportunity to purchase individual show tickets before they are available to the public. “The Cowan Center Circle is the vehicle for the community to show support for the arts programming and distinguished lecturers presented by the Cowan Center. Our success is due in part to the generosity of our members,” said Susan Thomae-Morphew, Cowan Center director. “Also included in our benefits beginning at the $500 level are two complimentary tickets to the season’s special event, Bill Cosby.” Last season the Cowan Center Circle membership totaled 233. Support from the Circle provides upgrades to the box office for online sales and new phone lines, the White Lobby sound system, remodeling to the Green Room that supports cast and crew of touring performers and doubles as a classroom, upgrades to the sound and lighting in the Vaughn Auditorium and hosts pre-receptions at the Meadows Gallery.
