Second African-American Woman to Earn Ph.D. Speaks at Sonya Kovalevsky Day

Dr. Evelyn Granville, former UT Tyler mathematics faculty member and the second African-American woman to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics in the United States, speaks to high school junior and senior girls about her journey as a mathematician and the importance of math at the Sonya Kovalevsky Day. The event was held by the UT Tyler math club Thursday, March 10 in the library.
