Flores to Receive “Women Who Inspire” Award
This is the seventh annual luncheon in which eight women will be honored for their contributions to the community. Flores was chosen as one of the eight out of several dozen nominations. Flores teaches business strategy and is the associate director of the Hispanic & Latin American research program and the business center for UT Tyler. She recently taught a business development class in Spanish where she taught Hispanic business owners to develop business plans and utilize networking. She is also a member of the United Way, YMCA and the Tyler Chamber of Commerce. “My mission in life is to help people,” said Flores. “When I am teaching people, I am providing them with information that will help them succeed. Knowing the right information is key.” Prior to UT Tyler, Flores worked as the chief marketing officer at Miracle TV and as a marketing director for International eCommerce. During graduate school, Flores started her own company in Mexico called Beverly Hills Cosmetics. She developed a 250 people sales force and eventually sold to Tupperware Corporation in 1994. She has also taught marketing as a professor and consultant at Monterrey Technical School in Monterrey, Mexico. Flores holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, a master’s degree in business administration and a Ph.D. in management with a minor in marketing.

The Women in Tyler committee will honor Dr. Isaura Flores, visiting associate professor of marketing at UT Tyler, during the “Women who Inspire” luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Rose Garden Center.
