Track & Field Club Compete at ASC Meet
In the women’s division, Charity Bolling placed second in the 10,000 meter run at 45:34.71 and fourth in the 5,000 meter at 21:13.91. In the men’s division, RJ Cowan placed fifth in the 10,000 meter run at 37:25.69, Tyler Barlow placed sixth at 37:39.47 and John Simmons placed 10th at 40:54.40. Corey Kellum finished second in the 5,000 meter run at 16:21.65. Barlow placed fifth in the 800 meter run at 2:18.70. Kent Willis finished 10th in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:07.22. In the 1600 meter relay, UT Tyler placed fifth. Barlow ran first leg, Simmons ran second leg, Cowan ran third leg and Willis ran anchor. The UT Tyler track and field club plans to send about 20 athletes to next year’s event, according to Bob Hepler, director of the Herrington Patriot Center and head coach of cross country.
