The seminar was hosted by UT Tyler and the Teaching Excellence in Mathematics and Science (TEMS) program.
Speakers, who chose their areas of focus with an overall objective of updating and informing all participants, included:
Dr. Julie Luft, UT Austin, spoke on science teacher induction; Linda Ramsey, Louisiana Tech University, spoke on the creation and sustainability of science teacher leaders; Dr. Brett Jones, the University of Southern Florida, spoke on high-stakes testing and its impact on teachers and students; and Dr. James Barufaldi, UT Austin, served as moderator of the round table discussion.
